Family and Charitable Planning
Herbert and Victoria have been married for 27 years and have three children. Because of a substantial inheritance they began working with Dallas Seminary Foundation to evaluate their contributions to the Lord's work and address their family financial goals.
Herbert: Working with the Foundation has been a tremendous blessing for us because its role is to be a partner and offer explanation. Their many years of experience and their professionalism is evident in all they do. I just wanted simplicity, and the Foundation coordinated many different players into a process that would have been very complicated if we'd tried this on our own. The Foundation offers a tremendous value to people like us who need someone they can trust, discuss the role of different advisors and then invite those advisors to help us develop a comprehensive plan that meets our specific needs.
We don't want to rob God of His glory by leaving too much to our children and not enough to ministry. The kingdom impact is much greater when we plan for leaving a legacy to future generations. I think Dallas Theological Seminary stands among a very select few in protecting the integrity of God's Word. The Foundation serves a very unique role and it has been a true blessing to use the services they offer.
As we concluded our planning process with the Foundation, we had a tremendous sense of peace and confidence that we were being obedient to the Lord's plans concerning our assets. We are also able to articulate to our children that there's not only a plan but we can explain the plan and we can see that our resources will make a difference in their lives while at the same time have an impact for the kingdom.
